Does anyone have a clean template for logging tundish superheat and caster speed shifts by heat? I’m holding superheat 25–30°C over liquidus with alarms at 22°C and 35°C, and I want a better way to correlate it with SEN clog delta-P and mold level variance. If your sheet ties probe times (R-type dip every 15 min) to level deviations, I can share mine for comparison.
@OP I’d add a “+3 min lag” column so each “R-type dip every 15 min” superheat is paired with delta-P at +3 min and mold level stdev over the next 5 min by heat/strand; that tightened our clog correlation a lot. Small caveat: we use a 2-min dwell before flagging 22/35°C to kill noise — want a copy of the Google Sheet?
Instead of a fixed +3 min, I tie each R-dip to per-strand residence time using current tundish level-derived volume and strand flow, so the sheet auto-shifts superheat to SEN delta-P and mold level stdev at the right lag; small caveat — baffle/dam setups can swing lag 30–60 s, so keep a quick toggle. @k_lee49 want me to drop a sample calc?
@OP I get better signal by logging per‑strand argon at the exact dip timestamp (Nl/min) and a flag if it changes within 5 min; with superheat at 25–30°C that explains a lot of the noise when comparing to SEN pressure trends. With “R‑type dip every 15 min,” do you also record probe immersion depth, or want my sheet that auto‑flags shallow dips?
Add stopper position (%) and mold controller output at “25–30°C” samples; I can share a sheet.
