I’ve been experimenting with heat treatment processes for mild steel and noticed significant differences in hardness and ductility. Specifically, using austenitizing temperatures around 850°C followed by quenching in oil seems to improve tensile strength without sacrificing too much ductility. I’m curious if anyone else has done similar tests or has insights on refining these parameters for better results.
